12 Cleaning and Maintenance – Scan System146 Wide Format Copy System User GuideThe following illustration depicts the Scan System components that require cleaning.A: Platen Glass D: Document Drive Rolls (front)B: Backer Roll E: Document Feed TrayC: Document Drive Rolls (rear)Cleaning the Platen Glass, Document Drive Rolls, andBacker RollPerform the following steps daily:1. Open the Top Cover.2. Dampen a clean, lint-free towel (600S4372) with platen glass cleaning fluid (Xerox43P81).3. Wipe the Platen Glass with the towel.4. Visually inspect the Platen Glass to ensure that all dirt, glue, and other residue havebeen removed.5. Place a small amount of the cleaning fluid on the towel and clean the front and rearDocument Drive Rolls. Rotate the Rolls as you clean them to ensure that the entireroll surface is clean.6. Place a small amount of the cleaning fluid on the towel and wipe the white BackerRoll.NOTE: The Backer Roll is located on the underside of the Top Cover. The Backer Roll mayrotate as you clean it. This is normal behavior.7. Close the Top Cover.ABCDE
