7.16 Cleaning the Printer 171Cleaning the Feed RollerClean the feed roller inside the printer if paper does not feed properly.1. Switch the power off by pressing the powerswitch located on the left side of the printerto the position.2. Unplug the power cord from the poweroutlet and the printer.3. Push the side button (right side) and openthe front cover.4. Turn the four lock levers of the drumcartridge counterclockwise.Important• Make sure that nothing touches or scratches thesurface (black-colored film) of the belt unit. Scratches,dirt, or oil from your hands on the film of the belt unitmay reduce print quality.• When removing the drum cartridge, be careful not totouch the belt unit.5. Hold the drum cartridge by the tabs at bothends, and slide the cartridge towards thefront of the printer. Then, firmly hold thecartridge by both ends, and lift the cartridgeout of the printer.Important• Make sure to firmly hold the drum cartridge to preventit from falling on the belt unit.• Do not expose the drum cartridge to direct sunlight orstrong light.
