78 4 PaperLoading Paper in the Tray 1Important• Do not remove or add paper to the paper tray during printing. Doing so can cause paper jams.• Make sure to load paper when the power is switched on.Note• When loading envelopes into the tray 1, make sure to load them correctly. For details, refer to " LoadingEnvelopes" (P. 43).1. Remove the tray 1 from the printer.2. Adjust the paper guides to the size of thepaper. To load A4 or smaller size paperPinch the length guide clip and slide it tothe size of the paper.Pinch the width guide clip and slide it tothe size of the paper. To load Legal 13" or Legal 14" size paperPinch the length guide clip and slide it tothe edge of the tray. Then, hold the rightrear side of the tray and extend the trayto the size of the paper.Pinch the width guide clip and slide it tothe size of the paper.3. Load the paper into the tray 1 with the printside facing up.Adjust the paper guides until they restlightly against the edges of the stack ofpaper.
