Followthe recommendations provided to ensure the optimum performance, highest quality, and longest lifefrom your new print cartridge.Follow the guidelines below for storing and handling consumables:• Always store print cartridges unopened and inside their original package.• Store the correct side up in a horizontal position (not standing on end).• Do not store consumables in:• Temperatures greater than 40°C (104°F).• Humidity range less than 20% and not greater than 80%.• An environment with extreme changes in humidity or temperature.• Direct sunlight or room light.• Dusty places.• A vehicle for a long period of time.• An environment where corrosive gases are present.• An environment with salty air.• Do not store consumables directly on the floor.• Do not touch the surface of the photosensitive drum in the print cartridge.• Do not expose the print cartridge to unnecessary vibrations or shock.• Never manually rotate the drum in the print cartridge, especially in the reverse direction; this cancause internal damage and toner spillage.When to Order Consumable SuppliesTo avoid print quality problems resulting from worn parts and to maintain yourmachine in top working condition, replace the print cartridge as directed:• A blinking orange warning light and a message appear on the control panelwhen the print cartridge is near its replacement time. Check that you havereplacements on hand, and order them when the warning appears if you do not. Itis important to order these items when the messages first appear to avoid interruptions to yourprinting.• An error message and a solid orange warning light appear on the control panel when the printcartridge must be replaced.To replace the print cartridge follow the instructions provided below or with the consumable.WARNING: When replacing consumables, DO NOT remove the covers or guards that are fastenedwith screws. You cannot maintain or service any of the parts that are behind these covers andguards. Do NOT attempt any maintenance procedure that is NOT specifically described in thedocumentation supplied with your machine.
