28CloneThe FTM-7250DR includes a convenient “Clone” feature, which allows the memory andconfiguration data from one transceiver to be transferred to another FTM-7250DR.This can be particularly useful when configuring a number of transceivers for a publicservice operation. Here is the procedure for cloning data from one radio to another:1. Turn both radios OFF.2. Connect the user-constructed cloning cable between the MIC jacks of the two radios.3. Press and hold the [MHz(SETUP)] key while turn-ing the radios ON. Do this for both radios (the or-der of switch-on does not matter). “CLONE” willappear on the displays of both radios when theClone mode is successfully activated in this step.4. On the Destination radio; press the [MHz(SETUP)]key (“-- --WAIT-- --” will appear on the display).5. On the Source radio; press the [GM(AMS)] key “---- --TX-- -- --” will appear on the Source radio, andthe data from this radio will be transferred to thedestination radio.6. If there is a problem during the cloning process,“ERROR” will be displayed. Check your cable con-nections and battery voltage, and try again.7. If the data transfer is successful, “CLONE” will ap-pear on the Source radio display. The destinationradio, to which the data is copied, will restart auto-matically.8. Turn both radios off and disconnect the cloning cable.Pin 1: PTT/CLONEPin 1: PTT/CLONEPin 3: GNDRJ12/66 Position 6 ContactModular PlugRJ12/66 Position 6 ContactModular PlugPin 3: GND
