Place the outboard motor in an uprightposition.If the outboard motor is not level, the oillevel indicated on the dipstick may not becorrect.2. Start the engine and warm it up for 5–10minutes.3. Stop the engine and leave it off for 5–10minutes.4. Remove the top cowling.5. Remove the dipstick “1” and wipe itclean.6. Insert the dipstick “1” completely for acorrect measurement and remove itagain.7. Check that the oil level indicated on thedipstick “1” is between the upper mark “a”and the lower mark “b”. If the engine oil isnot at the proper level, add or extractengine oil.Checking the main switch/stopswitch/choke switch1. Check that the engine starts when theengine start switch is turned to START.2.
