Remove the bolts from the rear oil seal assembly(Figure 6-101, (2-3)). Remove the assembly fromthe engine.Figure 6-1013. Before removing the main bearing caps, measurethe crankshaft end play. Use either of the followingtwo methods.• Method A : Install a dial gauge(Figure 6-102, (1)) on the cylinder block. Movethe crankshaft (Figure 6-102, (2)) in and out tomeasure the end play.
