START-UPAxiolab 5 Connecting to the power supply ZEISS05/2019 430037-7444-001 753.2.4 Inserting the modulator disk in thecondenser 0.9 BF Pol• Remove the condenser (Fig. 3-30/1) from thecondenser carrier (see section 3.1.8).If the condenser cannot be lowered sufficiently,e.g. with the low-power system mounted, thenit may be necessary to remove it with the stagecarrier, then lower it to the stop and remove thecondenser.• Loosen the clamping screw (582HFig. 3-30/5) of thecondenser’s dial segment (583HFig. 3-30/3) with theAllen wrench (AF 3) and pull out the dialsegment.• Slide the modulator disk (584HFig. 3-30/4) with itstwo-pronged forked opening pointing forwardinto the condenser. Make sure that the diskengages in the guide on both inner sides of thecondenser. The guide serves as a stop for themodulator disk. The pin of the disk’s clampingscrew must slide into the orientation groove ofthe condenser.• Tighten the disk’s clamping screw with theAllen wrench (AF 3).• Replace the condenser in its carrier (seesection 3.1.8).3.3 Connecting to the power supplyThe power supply of the Axiolab 5 is located at theback of the instrument in all stand models.• Connect the microscope (Fig. 3-31/1) to thepower supply via a power cord and mainssocket.• The Axiolab 5 can be connected to a linevoltage ranging from 100 to 240 VAC, withfrequencies of 50/60 Hz.
