3-8 CHAPTER 3: STARTUPIf the Self Test LED flashes after the self-test diagnostics have run, thecommunications server is unable to boot its software. If you are bootingremotely, verify that the host server is properly configured and attached tothe network. If you are booting from diskette, verify that the diskette isinserted properly in the drive. Press the communications server’s resetswitch to try again.Shutting Down To shut down a communications server, follow these steps:1 Notify all users that the server is being shut down.You can notify users from a terminal port on the server or from the consolevia the BRoadcast command. Refer to the Multiprotocol CommunicationsServer Operation Guide and Multiprotocol Communications Server SoftwareReference Guide for information on this command.2 Disconnect all active sessions.Refer to the Multiprotocol Communications Server Operation Guide andMultiprotocol Communications Server Software Reference Guide.3 To shut down a CS/3000, turn the power off. On a CS/3100, wait until thedisk drive LED goes out, then turn the power off.If the disk drive LED remains on, enter monitor mode by pressing thehardware interrupt switch and the Return key on the console keyboard.
