Upgrades 5-15Figure 5-8 Location of Memory Chips on Motherboard3 Remove the old memory chips that you want to replace.Using the thumb and forefinger of one or both hands, grasp the front andback of the chip and gently rock it back and forth until it becomes loose.Lift the chip out of its socket.As you remove the chip, note its orientation. The beveled top edge of thechip faces the right side of the chassis (when viewed from the front of theserver).4 Remove a new memory chip from its antistatic foam shipping pad.If the pins have been bent, carefully straighten them.
