396 V7122 GatewayUser GuideIf the size of the combined Voice Prompts file is less than 1 MB, it can permanently be storedin flash memory. Larger files, up to 10 MB, are stored in RAM, and should be loaded again(using BootP/TFTP utility) after the gateway is reset. The Voice Prompts integrated file is a collection of raw voice recordings and / or wav files. These recordings can be prepared using standard utilities, such as CoolEdit, Goldwave TMand others. The raw voice recordings must be sampled at 8000 kHz / mono / 8 bit. The wavfiles must be recorded with G.711μ-Law/A-Law/Linear.When the list of recorded files is converted to a single voiceprompts.dat file, every VoicePrompt is tagged with an ID number, starting with ‘1’. This ID is used later by the gateway tostart playing the correct announcement. Up to 1000 Voice Prompts can be used.3Com provides a professionally recorded English (U.S.) Voice Prompts file.To generate and load the Voice Prompts file:1 Prepare one or more voice files using standard utilities.2 Use the TrunkPack Downloadable Conversion Utility to generate the voiceprompts.datfile from the pre-recorded voice messages (see Creating a Loadable Voice PromptsFile).3 Load the voiceprompts.dat file to the gateway either by using a TFTP procedure (seeConfiguration Files Parameters), or using the Embedded Web Server (Auxiliary Files).CAS Protocol Configuration FilesThe CAS Protocol Configuration Files contain the CAS Protocol definitions to be used forCAS-terminated trunks, users can either use the files supplied or construct their own files. It is possible to load up to eight files and to use different files for different trunks. All CAS files loaded together must belong to the same Trunk Type (either E1 orT1).User Information FileThe User Information file maps PBX extensions to global IP numbers. In this context, aglobal IP phone number (alphanumerical) serves as a routing identifier for calls in the ‘IPWorld’. The PBX extension uses this mapping to emulate the behavior of an IP phone. Notethat the mapping mechanism is disabled by default and must be activated using theparameter ‘EnableUserInfoUsage’ (described in SIP Configuration Parameters). Each line in the file represents a mapping rule of a single PBX extension (up to 1000 rulescan be configured). Each line includes five items separated with commas. The items aredescribed in Table 77. An example of a User Information file is shown in Figure 122.
