CoarseSyncSrc which can have the following values:• Off• SPA• LON• DNP• IEC 60870-5-103The function input to be used for minute-pulse synchronization is calledBININPUT. For a description of the BININPUT settings, see the TechnicalManual. The system time can be set manually, either via the local HMI or via any of thecommunication ports. The time synchronization fine tunes the clock (seconds andmilliseconds). The parameter SyncMaster defines if the IED is a master, or not a master for timesynchronization within a Substation Automation System, for IEDs connected in acommunication network (IEC 61850-8-1). The SyncMaster can have the followingvalues:• Off• SNTP -ServerIEEE 1588 (PTP) GUID-424227EC-74A1-4628-8948-C1876840ABFE v3Precision Time Protocol (PTP) is enabled/disabled using the Ethernet configurationtool /ECT) in PCM600.PTP can be set to On,Off or Slave only. When set to Slave only the IED isconnected to the PTP-group and will synchronize to the grandmaster but cannotfunction as the grandmaster.A PTP-group is set up by connecting the IEDs to a network and enabling PTP. Toset one IED as the grandmaster change Priority2 to 127 instead of the default 128.IEC16000089-1-en.vsdxIEC16000089 V1 EN-USFigure 172: Enabling PTP in ECTThe PTP VLAN tag must have the same value in station clock and in the IED. Thedefault value is set to 0.The PTP VLAN tag does not need to be the same on all access points in one IED. Itis possible to mix as long as they are the same for all devices on each subnet.1MRK 505 393-UEN B Section 21Basic IED functionsLine differential protection RED650 2.2 IEC 419Application manual
