Section 4 Analog inputs4.1 Introduction SEMOD55003-5 v11Analog input channels must be configured and set properly in order to get correctmeasurement results and correct protection operations. For power measuring, alldirectional and differential functions, the directions of the input currents must bedefined in order to reflect the way the current transformers are installed/connectedin the field ( primary and secondary connections ). Measuring and protectionalgorithms in the IED use primary system quantities. Setting values are in primaryquantities as well and it is important to set the data about the connected current andvoltage transformers properly. An AISVBAS reference PhaseAngleRef can be defined to facilitate service valuesreading. This analog channel's phase angle will always be fixed to zero degrees andremaining analog channel's phase angle information will be shown in relation tothis analog input. During testing and commissioning of the IED, the referencechannel can be changed to facilitate testing and service values reading. The IED has the ability to receive analog values from primaryequipment, that are sampled by Merging units (MU) connected to aprocess bus, via the IEC 61850-9-2 LE protocol. The availability of VT inputs depends on the ordered transformerinput module (TRM) type.4.2 Setting guidelines SEMOD55068-1 v1SEMOD130348-4 v5The available setting parameters related to analog inputs aredepending on the actual hardware (TRM) and the logicconfiguration made in PCM600.If a second TRM is used, at least one TRM channel must beconfigured to get the service values. However, the MU physicalchannel must be configured to get service values from that channel.1MRK 505 393-UEN B Section 4Analog inputsLine differential protection RED650 2.2 IEC 39Application manual
