Step 1: Starting Adaptec Storage ManagerNote You need root or administrative privileges to run Adaptec Storage Manager.You can’t run multiple instances of Adaptec Storage Manager on the same system.1 Start Adaptec Storage Manager.• On a system running Windows, click Start > Programs > Adaptec StorageManager.• On a system running Linux:a Type cd /usr/StorMan, then press Enter to change to the Adaptec StorageManager installation directory.b Type sh StorMan.sh, then press Enter:Adaptec Storage Manager opensand the Login to ManagementService window pops up. If theManagement Service is installedon the same system as the GUI,the host name and user namefields will be automatically filledin.2 Enter the Administratorpassword you set when youinstalled Adaptec StorageManager.If the Management Service is not installed on the local system, enter the name orTCP/IP address of the system on which the Management Service is installed,then enter the Administrator user name and password you set when youinstalled Adaptec Storage Manager.Note If you want to be prompted to log in to the Management Service each timeAdaptec Storage Manager is opened, uncheck the Save user name/passwordcheck box. You might want to do this if some users have user-level access only toAdaptec Storage Manager.
