Check thehandwheel and, if this mark is not at this position, press(Needle position button) until it is.1 Mark on handwheeldTurn off the machine.Upper ThreadingCAUTION• Three spool cap sizes are available, allowingyou to choose a spool cap that best fits the sizeof spool being used. If the spool cap is toosmall for the spool being used, the thread maycatch on the slit in the spool or the needle maybreak. When using mini king thread spool, usethe thread spool insert (mini king threadspool). For more information regarding thechoice of spool caps for your thread choice,see page B-13.• When threading the upper thread, carefullyfollow the instructions. If the upper threadingis not correct, the thread may become tangledor the needle may bend or break.• Never use a thread weight of 20 or lower.• Use the needle and the thread in the correctcombination.
