And, if thevehicle has side impact airbags,safety belt pretensioners can helptighten the safety belts in a side orrear crash.Pretensioners work only once. If thepretensioners activate in a crash,the pretensioners and possibly otherparts of the safety belt system willneed to be replaced. See ReplacingSafety Belt System Parts after aCrash on page 3‑19.Rear Safety Belt ComfortGuidesThis vehicle may have rear shoulderbelt comfort guides. If not, they areavailable through your dealer. Theguides may provide added safetybelt comfort for older children whohave outgrown booster seats andfor some adults. When installed andproperly adjusted, the comfort guidepositions the shoulder belt awayfrom the neck and head.Here is how to install a comfortguide to the safety belt:1. Pull the elastic cord out frombetween the edge of theseatback and the interior body toremove the guide from itsstorage clip.
