Press the tyregauge firmly onto the valve toget a pressure measurement. If the cold tyre inflation pressurematches the recommendedpressure on the Tyre andLoading Information label, nofurther adjustment is necessary. If the inflation pressure is low,add air until the recommendedpressure is reached. If theinflation pressure is high, presson the metal stem in the centreof the tyre valve to release air.Recheck the tyre pressure withthe tyre gauge.Return the valve caps on thevalve stems to prevent leaksand keep out dirt and moisture.Tyre Pressure forHigh-Speed Operation{ WarningDriving at high speeds, 160 km/h(100 mph) or higher, puts anadditional strain on tyres.Sustained high-speed drivingcauses excessive heat build-upand can cause sudden tyrefailure. You could have a crashand you or others could be killed. Some high-speed rated tyresrequire inflation pressureadjustment for high-speedoperation. When speed limits androad conditions are such that avehicle can be driven at highspeeds, make sure the tyres arerated for high-speed operation, inexcellent condition, and set to thecorrect cold tyre inflation pressurefor the vehicle load.Vehicles with P235/65R18, P235/55R20, or 235/55R20 size tyresrequire inflation pressure adjustmentwhen driving the vehicle at speedsof 160 km/h (100 mph) or higher.Set the cold inflation pressure to themaximum inflation pressure shownon the tyre sidewall, or 260 kPa(38 psi), whichever is lower. Returnthe tyres to the recommended coldtyre inflation pressure whenhigh-speed driving has ended. SeeVehicle Load Limits on page 9-8and Tyre Pressure on page 10-43.The maximum load and inflationpressure is molded on the tyresidewall, in small letters, near therim flange. It will read something likethis: Maximum load 690 kg(1521 lbs) 300 kPa (44 psi) Max.Press.
