If a jack is provided withthe vehicle, it is designed only forchanging a flat tyre. If it is usedfor anything else, you or otherscould be badly injured or killed ifthe vehicle slips off the jack. If ajack is provided with the vehicle,only use it for changing a flat tyre.If a tyre goes flat, avoid further tyreand wheel damage by driving slowlyto a level place, well off the road,if possible. Turn on the hazardwarning flashers. See HazardWarning Flashers on page 6-7.{ WarningChanging a tyre can bedangerous. The vehicle can slipoff the jack and roll over or fallcausing injury or death. Find alevel place to change the tyre. Tohelp prevent the vehicle frommoving:1. Apply the parking brakefirmly.2. Put an automatictransmission in P (Park) or amanual gearbox in 1 (First)or R (Reverse).3. Turn off the engine and donot restart while the vehicleis raised.4. Do not allow passengers toremain in the vehicle.5. Place wheel chocks,if equipped, on both sides ofthe tyre at the oppositecorner of the tyre beingchanged.
