Heavy, Unpainted Metal Engine Part or RemoteNegative (−) TerminalB. Good Battery or Remote Positive (+) and RemoteNegative (−) TerminalsC. Dead Battery or Remote Positive (+) TerminalTo disconnect the jumper cables from both vehicles, dothe following:1. Disconnect the black negative (−) cable from thevehicle that had the dead battery.2. Disconnect the black negative (−) cable from thevehicle with the good battery.3. Disconnect the red positive (+) cable from thevehicle with the good battery.4. Disconnect the red positive (+) cable from the othervehicle.All-Wheel DriveAll of the lubricant checks in this section apply to yourvehicle. If you have an all-wheel-drive vehicle, there isan additional system that need lubrication.Transfer CaseWhen to Check LubricantIt is not necessary to regularly check the transfer casefluid unless you suspect there is a leak or you hear anunusual noise. A fluid loss could indicate a problem.Have it inspected and repaired.6-43
