We recommend the use of genuine partsfrom your dealer.Rotation of New TiresTire rotation is not recommended if the vehicle hasdifferent size tires on the front and rear wheels. If tirerotation is recommended for the vehicle, to maintainride, handling, and performance of the vehicle, it isimportant that the first rotation service for new tiresbe performed. Tires should be rotated every12 000 km/7,500 miles. See Tire Inspection andRotation on page 6‑65.Scheduled MaintenanceWhen the Change Engine Oil SoonMessage DisplaysChange engine oil and filter. See Engine Oil onpage 6‑16. An Emission Control Service.When the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON messagedisplays, service is required for the vehicle as soon aspossible, within the next 1 000 km/600 miles. If drivingunder the best conditions, the engine oil life systemmight not indicate the need for vehicle service for morethan a year. The engine oil and filter must be changedat least once a year and the oil life system must bereset. Your dealer has trained service technicians whowill perform this work and reset the system. If theengine oil life system is reset accidentally, service thevehicle within 5 000 km/3,000 miles since the lastservice. Reset the oil life system whenever the oil ischanged. See Engine Oil Life System on page 6‑20.When the Change Engine Oil Soon message displays,certain services, checks, and inspections are required.7-3
