Chapter 8 L60 Setup and Other Utilities in the Desktop Manager 8-23L60 Setup andOther Utilities in theDesktop ManagerIf you decide you need to disconnect the L60 from the designated portand/or attach another device to the port, you should close the MultiPASSBackground first. If you close the MultiPASS Background first, you avoidreceiving error messages when the MultiPASS Background detects it canno longer communicate with the L60.When you start the Desktop Manager again at a later time, the MultiPASSBackground is automatically reopened if your L60 has been reconnected tothe port. You can also open the MultiPASS Background without openingthe Desktop Manager.Preparing to Close the MultiPASS BackgroundIf you are closing the MultiPASS Background, you may want to set the L60to print any received faxes. With the MultiPASS Background closed,received faxes cannot be moved to the Desktop Manager. Received faxescan also be stored in the L60 memory. However, if the memory becomesfull, the L60 is unable to receive more faxes until you print the faxes storedin memory.To set the L60 to print received faxes:In the Desktop Manager, open the Setup Options dialog box. In the SetupOptions dialog box, on the Receive Fax tab, select Print Fax in the IfComputer On and If Computer Off boxes. Save your changes.For detailed instructions on changing L60 setup options, refer to the“Setting Up L60 Options in the Desktop Manager” section in this chapter.Closing the MultiPASS BackgroundFollow these instructions to close the MultiPASS Background.1. Close the MultiPASS Desktop Manager.2. On the Windows taskbar, click the right mouse button on theMultiPASS Background button. In the displayed menu, click Close.
