12-10 Maintaining Your MultiPASS L60 Chapter 12Transporting the MultiPASS L60Whenever you plan to transport the MultiPASS L60, you need toprepare it so it will not be damaged during the move.1. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet.2. Remove any paper and/or documents from the unit.3. Open the front cover by pressing the release latches on both sides ofthe unit and remove the toner cartridge.❑ Store the toner cartridge in its original protective bag or wrap itin a thick cloth to avoid exposure to light.4. Use both hands to close the front cover until it clicks into position.5. Disconnect the optional handset, telephone or answering machine(if you have connected one to the unit).6. Disconnect the power cord from the unit.7. Remove the paper rest, support trays, and extension tray from theunit. See “Attaching Components” on page 2-12.8. Remove the optional handset if you have attached it to theMultiPASS L60. See Appendix B.9. Replace all tapes and shipping materials you removed when youfirst unpacked the MultiPASS L60. See “Removing ShippingMaterials” on page 2-9.10. Pack the MultiPASS L60 and all its components into its originalshipping carton. Use the illustration on page 2-5 for reference.N If you no longer have the shipping carton your MultiPASS L60 came in,pack the unit in a suitably sized, sturdy cardboard box, using bubblewrap, foam peanuts, or other suitable packing materials.
