For details on firewall function, see“On Firewall Function” on page 21.– When using wireless LAN, the computer can communicate with the access point.– When using wired LAN, the machine is connected to the hub.– The machine is not set to use access control.z If the firewall function is turned on in Windows XP with Service Pack 1, a message askingwhether to turn the firewall function off is displayed during setup. If it is displayed, click Yes toturn it off. The firewall function is turned back on automatically after setup is complete.– For information on how to confirm Windows XP Service Pack versions, see “Confirming theversion of Windows XP” on page 74.– Some programs that switch the network environment depending on your system environmentwill enable a firewall function by default. Check the settings on any such software.Notez If “Cannot map any more drives, because all thedrive letters are assigned” is displayed, make anavailable drive letter manually, and try the networksetup of the Card Slot again.z If “The Card Slot is already mapped as NetworkDrive to this computer” is displayed, the Card Slot isalready set up.
