Preparations242 Preparing the Power Supply6 Unplug the power cord from the power outlet and disconnect it fromthe compact power adapter.NOTES• To charge the battery pack, disconnect the DC cable from the compactpower adapter.• The supplied BP-955 and optional BP-975 Battery Packs are notcompatible with previous Canon camcorder models.Attaching the Battery Pack1 Hold down the button on the d switch and move it to OFF ().2 Slide the BATT. OPEN (open battery compartment) switch in thedirection of the arrow and open the battery compartment cover ().3 Insert the battery pack all the way into the compartment and pressgently until it clicks ().4 Close the battery compartment cover.Removing the Battery Pack1 Hold down the button on the d switch and move it to OFF.2 Slide the BATT. OPEN switch in the direction of the arrow and open thebattery compartment cover.3 Press the BATT. RELEASE (battery release) latch in the direction of thearrow and pull out the battery.4 Close the battery compartment cover.Checking the Remaining Battery ChargeIf you are using the supplied BP-955 or optional BP-975 Battery Pack,you can check the approximate remaining battery charge using one of thefollowing methods when the camcorder is turned off. When thecamcorder is turned on, you can check on the remaining battery chargeby looking at any recording/playback screen or the [Battery / Hour Meter]status screen (0 179).Press the CHECK button on the battery pack.
