If byany chance you encounter communication difficulties overthe network, and you cannot connect to the controller atthis moment, just press the back button on your browser,and repeat the last steps of the process. Upon successfulfile upload, you will be presented with conformationwindow (Figure 55).Figure 55 Result of the firmware update file transfer tothe PRC2000E/PRC1500E controllersAfter the firmware update file is successfully uploaded intothe PRC-E controller, close the Upgrade Device Firmwarewebpage (Figure 56.)Figure 56 Close Upgrade Device Firmware webpageReboot the controllerTo finalize the firmware upgrade process, the controllermust be rebooted. There are two ways the PRC-E controllercan be rebooted:1. On the Version webpage, locate Firmware Updatesarea. Click on the Reboot Controller button to rebootthe PRC-E controller (Figure 57). The firmware upgradewill be performed automatically by the controller duringthe boot-up process. You will be disconnected from thecontroller during the boot-up process.Figure 57 Reboot controller2. Turn off the power to the PRC-E controller for a coupleof seconds and turn it back on. The firmware upgradewill be performed automatically by the controller duringthe bootup process.You should use caution when upgrading the firmware in thecontroller operating at the occupied site. If PRC-E controllerhad any logic programmed in, the upgrade process willnot change any programmed logic, but during the upgradeprocess, the controller might be reset to the default values,which might cause some logic to be re-evaluated. This mightcause temporary disruption in the service, some erroneousalarms to appear, and, in extreme cases, some breakers tochange the state. It is recommended to perform firmwareupgrades after normal operating hours. Controller shalloperate normally after the firmware upgrade is finished.
