CHAPTER 11 - PXG600E SYSTEM INTEGRATION169EATON PXG600E User Manual • IM02603003E Rev 5, 11-May-2012 • Firmware Version 5.03:3835Chapter 11 PXG600E System IntegrationThis section provides additional details on integrating the PXG600E withcommon network clients.Accessing the PXG600E from Eaton Software ProductsThe PXG600E is compatible with the following Eaton software products thatcan be connected to the Ethernet LAN.PowerNet SoftwareThe PXG600E can be accessed from PowerNet software over the EthernetLAN. PowerNet software can monitor and configure devices that areconnected to the INCOM port of the PXG600E. PowerNet software will NOTbe able to access data from Modbus RTU or QCPort devices. To support this connection, the PXG600E supports the Encapsulated INCOMover Ethernet protocol. Messages from PowerNet are routed through to thedestination device on the INCOM network. The full data set of the INCOMdevice is available to the PowerNet software. To configure the PowerNet software so it connects to the PXG600E, select anEMINT from the software device list to represent the PXG600E whenconfiguring the PowerNet device server.Power Xpert SoftwareThe PXG600E can be accessed from the Power Xpert Software. More detailson configuring the Power Xpert Software can be found in the Power XpertSoftware User Guide.CH StudioThe PXG600E can be accessed by CH Studio V2.2 software to configuredevices on the QCPort network.Connecting to Modbus TCP ClientsThe PXG600E can be accessed from software and devices that operate asModbus TCP Clients. The PXG600E acts as a Modbus server to these clients. This means that it will respond to data requests from the client but will notinitiate data transfers. The following PXG600E configuration is required toconnect to a Modbus TCP client:• Access control: enabled with the Modbus TCP client listed as a trustedhost (recommended) OR Access control disabled (less secure).• Modbus TCP: enabled.• Modbus Writes: enabled if INCOM slave action writes are used.Otherwise disabled.Accessing Data from Downstream INCOM, QCPortand Modbus RTU DevicesThe PXG600E maps data from the devices on the INCOM, COM1 and COM2port (QCPort or Modbus RTU) to registers that can be accessed by requestsfrom the Modbus TCP client.
