5-38 D30 Line Distance Protection System GE Multilin5.2 PRODUCT SETUP 5 SETTINGS5The date and time can be synchronized a known time base and to other relays using an IRIG-B signal. It has the sameaccuracy as an electronic watch, approximately ±1 minute per month. If an IRIG-B signal is connected to the relay, only thecurrent year needs to be entered. See the COMMANDS SET DATE AND TIME menu to manually set the relay clock. The REAL TIME CLOCK EVENTS setting allows changes to the date and/or time to be captured in the event record. The LOCAL TIME OFFSET FROM UTC setting is used to specify the local time zone offset from Universal Coordinated Time(Greenwich Mean Time) in hours. This setting has two uses. When the D30 is time synchronized with IRIG-B, or has nopermanent time synchronization, the offset is used to calculate UTC time for IEC 61850 features. When the D30 is timesynchronized with SNTP, the offset is used to determine the local time for the D30 clock, since SNTP provides UTC time. The daylight savings time (DST) settings can be used to allow the D30 clock can follow the DST rules of the local timezone. Note that when IRIG-B time synchronization is active, the DST settings are ignored. The DST settings are used whenthe D30 is synchronized with SNTP, or when neither SNTP nor IRIG-B is used.Only timestamps in the event recorder and communications protocols are affected by the daylight savings time set-tings. The reported real-time clock value does not change.5.2.7 FAULT REPORTSPATH: SETTINGS PRODUCT SETUP FAULT REPORTS FAULT REPORT 1The D30 relay supports one fault report and an associated fault locator. The signal source and trigger condition, as well asthe characteristics of the line or feeder, are entered in this menu. The fault report stores data, in non-volatile memory, pertinent to an event when triggered. The captured data contained inthe FaultReport.txt file includes:• Fault report number.• Name of the relay, programmed by the user.• Firmware revision of the relay.
