4-58 G30 GENERATOR PROTECTION SYSTEM – INSTRUCTION MANUALFRONT PANEL INTERFACE CHAPTER 4: INTERFACES44.2.9.4 Control of one breakerFor this application, the relay is connected and programmed for breaker 1 only. Operation for this application is identical tothat described in the previous section for two breakers.4.2.10 Change passwordsThe information in this section refers to password security. For information on how to set the password for the first time orchange CyberSentry passwords, see the previous chapter or the Settings > Product Setup > Security > CyberSentry sectionin the next chapter. The G30 supports password entry from a local or remote connection.Local access is defined as access to settings or commands via the front panel. This includes both keypad entry and theRS232 port. Remote access is defined as access to settings or commands via any rear communications port. This includesboth Ethernet and RS485 connections. Any change to the local or remote password enables this functionality. When entering a settings or command password via EnerVista or any serial interface, the user must enter thecorresponding connection password. If the connection is to the back of the G30, the remote password must be used. If theconnection is to the RS232 port of the front panel, the local password must be used. There are two user security access levels, setting and command, for which you can set a password for each. Use of apassword for each level controls whether users can enter commands or change settings. Another option is to specifysetting and/or command access for individual user accounts.• Setting — Allows the user to make any changes to any of the setting values:– Changing any setting– Test mode operation• Command — Restricts the user from making any settings changes, but allows the user to perform the followingoperations:– Changing the state of virtual inputs– Clearing the event recordsENTER COMMANDPASSWORDThis message appears when the USER 1, USER 2, or USER 3 key is pressed and a COMMANDPASSWORD is required, that is, if COMMAND PASSWORD is enabled and no commands have beenissued within the last 30 minutes.Press USER 1To Select BreakerThis message appears if the correct password is entered or if none is required.
