Areas around the probe inlet can bevery hot,For many foods, especiaIly roasts and poultry,internal food temperature is the best test foraloneness.The temperature probe takes theguesswork out of cooking foods to the exactdoneness you want.The probe can be used with the BAKE,CONVBAKEand CONVROAST.1, Push the tip of the probe into the thickest partof the meat.2. Place the rack in the desired rack position.3. Set the oven controls, Turn the Oven NodeSelector to CONV BAKE,CONV ROASTor BAKE.Turn the Temperature Knob to desired oventemperature in 25°Fincrements, from 175°Fto550°F. Allow the oven to preheat if necessary.The oven and oven lights will turn onimmediately and stay on until the oven isturned off.4. Use oven mitts to place the food in the hotoven, Insert the plug into the outlet. Hake sureit is pushed all the way in. Close the oven door.5. Turn the Mini-Knob to find the desired internalfood temperature. Pushthe Mini-Knob to selectthat temperature.Using the ProbeProfessional AIFGas RangeTIMER O O) PUSH TOSELECTiiiiProbeOutletThe word PROBEand SET will flash in the displayuntil a temperature is selected. If no temperatureis set, the probe will default to 100°F. If the ovenwas not preheated, the display will show LO.The internal food temperature can be set from aminimum of :100°Fand up to 200°F maximum.When food reaches the set internal temperature,the display will beep. To stop the reminderbeep, turn the Oven Mode Selector and theTemperature Knob to OFF. Use oven mitts toremove the probe from the oven outlet.To change the set internal temperature anytimein the cooking process, push the Mini-Knob andturn to adjust the temperature. Press theMini-Knob to select.Using theprobeUse only the probe provided with the range.Use the handles of the probe and plug wheninserting and removing them from the meatand oven outlet.• To avoid damaging the probe, do not use tongsto pull on the cable when removing it.• To ovoid breaking the probe, make sure food iscompletely defrosted before inserting.• To prevent possible burns, always wear anoven mitt when removing the plug; internaloven surfaces may be hot.i,_--_-_r_ CableHandlesThe temperature probe has a skewer-like probe at one endand o plug at the other end that goes into the outiet in theovert,• Never leave the probe inside the ovenduring a broil or self-cleaning cycle.- Do not store the probe in the oven.Properplacementof theprobe24• Measure the distance to the center of a roostby laying the temperature probe on top of themeat. Use your thumb and forefinger to markwhere the edge of the meat will come on theprobe.• Insert the probe up to the point marked withyour finger. The tip of the probe should be inthe center of the meat.
