Chapter 8. Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Interface Overview and OperationGFK-2816F August 2015 191Ethernet Interface Status BitsThe Ethernet Interface status bits occupy a single block of either reference memory or I/Ovariables. The access type and location of the Ethernet Interface Status bits is specifiedduring configuration of the Ethernet Interface. The Ethernet interface updates its bits in theCPU once each controller scan. The first 16 bits of the block are the LAN Interface Status (LIS) bits. The next 64 bits are theChannel Status bits (2 for each channel). These bits can be used to prevent initiation of aCOMMREQ function when certain errors occur or to signal a problem on an establishedchannel.Status Bits Brief DescriptionLANInterfaceStatus1 Port full duplex2 Port operating at highest supported speed3 Reserved4 Reserved5 Reserved6 Reserved7-8 Reserved9 Any Channel Error (error on any channel)10–12 Reserved13 LAN OK14 Resource problem15 Reserved16 LAN Interface OKChannelStatus17 Channel 1: Channel Open18 Channel 1: Reserved... ...47 Channel 16: Channel Open48 Channel 16: Reserved49–80 Reserved
