The previouslyassigned function is erased.Using the BacklightThe PM880 has a backlight that helps in viewing data. Since thebacklight uses more energy, the PM880 has a backlight timer thatyou can set to automatically turn the backlight off after aspecified time in order to conserve battery life. The PM880 alsoenables you to turn the backlight on and off manually. Use thesections that follow to operate the backlight.Manually Turning Backlight On and OffTo manually turn the backlight:• On - press any key on the keypad and the backlight willstay on for the programmed interval. You can also press thepower key briefly (about one-half second) and thebacklight will stay on for 30 minutes.• Off - press the red power key briefly (about one-halfsecond).Setting the Backlight Timer1.
