67Standard programs5.5.4 Sample blankTurbidity and colour in the sample matrix can falsify the results ofa photometric analysis. The interference factors come from thesample or are created by reactions with the reagents. The influence of turbidity and/or colour can be eliminated orreduced by taking a sample blank reading. After the sample reading has been carried out, a special cell(LCW919) with the sample blank is inserted in the cellcompartment. Measurement is automatic. The value of thesample measurement is then corrected through addition orsubtraction of the blank value. The result is shown in the displaywith the Blank Correction icon. Some barcode tests do not require a sample blank value to bedetermined, as turbidity and colour are dealt with during the testprocedure.Note: For further information about the Help Guide ("Information" icon),refer to Appendix A, page 143.5.5.5 Update/edit barcode tests5.5.5.1 Update barcode tests with test packaging (not available on all models)Using the data provided in the barcode, the instrumentautomatically sets the reading wavelength and factors. If adeviation in barcode data from the stored data is detected, theinstrument will require a data update and display the errormessage "Barcode control number? Update program data!" .1. Hold the packaging of the barcode test with the RFID symbolin front of the RFID module of the instrument. A soundindicates the successful transfer of data; the test isautomatically assessedIf the packaging is held in front of the RFID module a secondtime, the current lot information of the test is shown in thedisplay. The test can be performed next according to theprocess specification.
