8Moving the UnitBefore moving any of the units, be certainto disconnect any interconnection cordswith other components, and make certainthat you disconnect the unit from theAC outlet.Important Note for CVPD50 PlasmaDisplay: Always make sure that twopeople lift the CVPD50 plasma displaytogether. Never attempt to lift the unit byyourself. Failure to follow this instruc-tion may result in personal injury orirreparable damage to the unit that isnot covered under warranty.IMPORTANT NOTE: To avoid damage tothe CVR700 that may not be covered bythe warranty, be certain that all discs areremoved from the unit before it is tiltedin place or moved. Once the CVR700 isinstalled, a disc may be left in the unitwhen it is turned off, but the unit shouldNEVER be tilted or moved with a discleft in the changer. Failure to do somay result in discs becoming dis-lodged and jamming the mechanismwhich will require that the unit bereturned to an authorized servicefacility for repair.Important Information for the UserThe CVR700 and CVPD50 have been testedand found to comply with the limits for aClass B device, pursuant to Part 15 ofFCC Regulations 47. Operation is subjectto the following conditions: (1) Thesedevices may not cause harmful interfer-ence, and (2) these devices must acceptinterference received, including interfer-ence that may cause undesired operation.These limits are designed to provide rea-sonable protection against harmful inter-ference in a residential installation. Thisequipment generates, uses and can radiateradio-frequency energy and, if notinstalled and used in accordance with theinstructions, may cause harmful interfer-ence to radio communication. However,there is no guarantee that harmful inter-ference will not occur in a particularinstallation. If this equipment does causeharmful interference to radio or televisionreception, which can be determined byturning the equipment off and on, theuser is encouraged to try to correct theinterference by one or more of thefollowing measures:n Reorient or relocate the receivingantenna.n Increase the separation between theequipment and receiver.n Connect the equipment into an outleton a circuit different from that to whichthe receiver is connected.n Consult the dealer or an experiencedradio/TV technician for help.NOTE: Changes or modifications maycause these units to fail to comply withPart 15 of the FCC Rules and may void theuser’s authority to operate the equipment.CAUTION: The CVR700 uses a laser sys-tem. To prevent direct exposure to thelaser beam, do not open the cabinetenclosure or defeat any of the safetymechanisms provided for your protection.DO NOT STARE INTO THE LASER BEAM.To ensure proper use of this product,please read this owner’s manual carefullyand retain it for future use. Should theunit require maintenance or repair, pleasecontact your local JBL service center. Referservicing to qualified personnel only.The following is important safety infor-mation that you should read carefully inorder to prevent the possibility of person-al injury to yourself or others, or damageto the equipment. Errors in installation orconnection may lead to damage to theCVPD50, the CVR700 or other devices inyour system.Never allow children to use the CVPD50,CVR700 or any other electrical applianceswithout supervision. Take care to installthese devices where they are safe fromchildren and pets.Never operate the CVPD50 plasma dis-play in environmental conditions otherthan those listed in the technical specifi-cations on pages 111–112 of this manual.Protect the CVPD50 plasma display andthe CVR700 from moisture, including highlevels of humidity, proximity to standingwater, dripping water, spray water andrain. Do not install this equipment out-doors, near a hot tub or in a bathroom.Do not put any vessels that are filledwith water, such as vases, on the unit. Ifyou connect an external antenna to anydevice connected to the CVR700, ensurethat no water can penetrate the cable.Protect this equipment from heat, heataccumulation and direct sunlight. Avoidplacing the unit near fire, heat sources orovens. Maintain sufficient space on allsides of the unit for proper ventilation.Do not drape curtains over the unit. Donot mount the unit in an enclosedcabinet or wall.Failure to follow these instructionsmay lead to personal injury or deathdue to electric shock and/or firecaused by overheating, and/orirreparable damage to the unit thatis not covered under warranty.
