Press and hold the Remote MenuButton b for about three secondswhile the message shown in Figure54 appears in the remote’s LCDInformation Display 2. Releasethe button when the red light underthe Set Button s appears.2. The remote’s MAIN MENU message(Figure 55), will appear in the LCDdisplay and the Set Button s willremain illuminated in red. Press the⁄ Navigation Button q untilMACRO appears on the bottom lineof the LCD screen, as shown in Figure78. Press the Set Button s toenter the main macro menu branch.Figure 783. The next screen that appears (Fig. 81)is where you select the device for thefirst command that will be sent out aspart of the macro. Press the ⁄ /¤Navigation Button q until thename of the device appears on theleft side of the lower line in the LCDdisplay. For this example, the firstbutton we want to have the macro“press” is the Power On button, sothe DVD/MAIN is selected. Pressthe Set Button s when thedesired device name appears to moveto the next programming step.Figure 81Begin entering the individual com-mands for the macro, in the orderyou wish them to be transmitted.Remember that when you want tochange devices, you must first pressthe Input Selectors d for that but-ton, and then press the Command orFunction key.6. The next display (Figure 82) and thesubsequent screens are where theactual macro programming takesplace. The words at the left side ofthe top line of the display show thebutton that is being programmed(e.g., one of the Macro ButtonsR) and the indication at the rightside of the top line shows the numberof macro steps available of 20 possi-ble steps. Following the instructionson the remote’s LCD screen, press thefirst key you wish to be transmitted inthe macro. In our example, we firstwant the CVR700 to turn on, so thePower Button 1 should bepressed.Figure 827. Once the first command button forthe macro has been pressed, continueto press the buttons you wish to bepart of the macro, in the order theywill be used. Press each buttonwithin 5 seconds of the last button,remembering to press the InputSelector 3 when you are chang-ing device functions. As the buttons onthe remote are pressed, the remote’sdisplay screen will show the steps inthe macro as they are programmed(Figure 83).Figure 838. For our example, we first want theCVR700 Power On button pressed,followed by the Cable Box On, fol-lowed by the selection of the Logic 7mode. To do that, press the buttons inthis order:• Power On 1• Cable/Sat 3• Power On 1• System 5• Logic 7 fAs each button is pressed to enter itinto the macro, you will see the but-ton names appear and then scroll upon the LCD display as your confirma-tion of the key entry (Figure 83).9. When all commands for the macrohave been entered, press the SetButton s to save the macro. Thedisplay screen will show the buttonto which the macro has been pro-grammed and the number of stepsused, and the word SAVED will blinkfour times in the lower line of theLCD display. When the display returnsto normal, the macro has beenentered and the remote is ready foroperation.10. As the macro plays, you will see thesteps appear in the remote’s LCD dis-play. Macros programmed into one ofthe four discrete Macro buttons maybe activated at any time by pressingthe appropriate button.Preprogrammed MacrosSeveral macro-type commands have beenpreprogrammed into the remote, and theymay be activated not by pressing one ofthe Macro Buttons X, but rather bypressing and holding certain other but-tons as described below:1. Pressing and holding the Power On1 or Power Off 0 buttons willexecute the Power On (All) or PowerOff (All) commands to either turn onor turn off all devices whose productcodes have been programmed into theremote. Note that if you are not usingany external devices, you may simplypower on the CVR700, and the CVPD50screen will automatically be triggeredto turn on as well.2. Pressing and holding certain InputSelectors 3 will cause the CVR700to switch to the selected source inputdevice, and the device will beginplaying:a. Press and hold the DVD Selector3, and the CVR700 will switchto the internal DVD/CD changersource. If you do not enter the num-ber for a disc you desire to play, thelast played disc will begin playing.b.
