ERASING MEMORY CHANNELSAlthough it is possible to overwrite existing data in any ofthe memory channels with new data, at times you maywish to clear data from memory channels withoutentering new data. It’s convenient to clear channels nolonger used so you can identify channels that are free formemorizing new frequencies. Memory channels thatcontain no data cannot be recalled while in MemoryRecall.1 Press [MR] to select Memory Recall.2 Select the desired memory channel using the Tuningcontrol or microphone [UP]/[DWN].3 Press [F]+ [MR].e The contents of the memory channel are erased.Note: Memory channel 1 cannot be erased.CALL CHANNELTheCallchannelcanbe usedtostoreanyfrequencythatcanbe selectedonyour transceiverthatyouwishtomakeyourmainoperatingfrequency.TheCallchannelcanbeprogrammedwithasimplexfrequencyorasplitfrequency.Nomatterwhatmodethetransceiveris in,theCallchannel alwayscanbeselectedquickly.YoumaywishtodedicatetheCallchannelonagroup-widebasisas anemergencychannelonlytobeusedforurgentcommunications.In thiscase,oneoftheCallchannel scans{page 61}willbeuseful.Recalling Call ChannelPressmicrophone [CALL]toretrieve thecontentsoftheCallchannel.e "C" appears on the Display.e If[CALL]ispressedagain, "C"clearsandthepreviousmodeisrestored.eThe Tuningcontroland microphone [UP]/[DWN]do not function while the Callchannelisselected.43
