For instructions, see page 73.Once the IP address is assigned to the printer, you can go tothe Printer Home Page to download and install the NECPrintAgent software and driver.1. Launch your web browser.2. Enter Printer’s IP Address as the URL to reach the PrinterHome Page.3. Click on the Install Drivers button to downloadPrintAgent software.4. In the File Download dialog box that appears, check Runthis program from its current location. and then clickOK to begin downloading and installing.5. During installation, you will be prompted to enter theURL (IP Address) of your printer so it can be added toyour system as the default printer. When installation isfinished, you can see the special NEC PrintAgent driverby selecting Settings and then Printers from theWindows Start menu.6. Restart for the new Driver to take effect.note: You can also install Remote Printing softwarefrom theSuperScript 4400 Series CD.Remote Printing From Your DesktopNow you can print as usual from your applications—justselect Print from the File menu. The jobs will be sent to theprinter using browser technology, and you can receiveinstant Printer Status reports.Getting Printer StatusWhen you send a print job, the PrintAgent window opensautomatically with status information. The animated printerimage shows the printer status.Eyebrows Moving: The Status Monitor and the printerare successfully communicating.Eyebrows Stop, Printer Looks Sad: Check the powerto the printer.Pages Printing Out: The printer is printing.Printer Sleeping: The printer is warming up.Critical messages, such as PAPER TRAY EMPTY, OUT OFTONER, or TOP COVER OPEN, will interrupt a print job. Theseare shown with a descriptive image and an error message inthe text field. Non-critical messages, such as LOW TONER andsome service errors, will appear only in the text field.Getting HelpWhen a message is present in the PrintAgent window, pressthe Help button for more details or instructions.
