66 SuperScript 4400 Series — User’s GuideModifying the Registry EntryIf Pull Printing clients are experiencing problems gettingstatus information, and there is a Proxy server between thePull Printing Server and those clients, you should make thefollowing registry changes in the Personal Web Server.1. Press the Windows Start button, select Run, and enterregedit to run the Registry Editor.2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\W3SVC\Parameters.3. On the right side of the Registry Editor, if you find aregistry named ReplyWithHTTP1.1,a. Right-click on the registry name and choose Modify.b. Change the Data Value to 0, and click OK to save thechange.4. If you cannot find the registry namedReplyWithHTTP1.1, add the registry, using these stepsa. On the left side of the Registry Editor, right-click onthe Parameters folder and select New\DWORDValue.b. Set the registry name to ReplyWithHTTP1. and theData Value to 0.5. Close the Registry Editor and restart the Personal WebServer.If you do modify the registry, those users accessing the PullPrinting Server without going through the proxy must turnoff HTTP1.1. Follow these steps.1. In Internet Explorer 4.01, select Internet Options fromthe View menu.2. Click on the Advanced Tab.3. Deselect HTTP1.1.Plug InsIf you have Microsoft Office 97 installed on the Pull PrintingServer, clients can print Word, Excel, and PowerPointdocuments from the Pull Printing Page. For clients to print.PDF files, Adobe Acrobat Reader must be installed on thePull Printing Server. Acrobat Reader is provided on theSuperScript 4400 Series CD.You can find out what file types are currently supported bythe Pull Printing Server by reviewing the kickIE.ini filelocated in the cgi-bin directory on the Pull Printing Server.If you find other plug-ins for Internet Explore 4.01, you canadd the file types supported by the plug-ins to theinetpub\cgi-bin\kickIE.ini file, under the SupportType tag. Please remember to increase the value of theNumberOfTypes variable.
