6-2 Installing and Using UtilitiesNEC EXPRESSBUILDERNEC EXPRESSBUILDER is an automated software integration tool to help simplify the process ofinstalling and configuring your server. Shipped with all NEC servers, the NECEXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM provides a flexible, guided installation process for systemadministrators to install Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft Windows 2000 or otheroperating systems (contact your service representative for the server certified operating systems).NOTE: Before using NEC EXPRESSBUILDER for initial setup,complete the hardware configuration.NEC EXPRESSBUILDER includes two distinct programs. One can be booted under DOS forinitial setup, and one is for use under Windows operating system. DOS-based with local consoleUsed to set up the server at the first time. This program is also used to diagnose theserver and to install/uninstall the management utilities on the maintenance partition of thesystem drive. DOS-based with remote consoleUsed to set up the server from the management workstation by accessing the server overthe network or via serial port B.NOTES: This menu is displayed only when an optional remote managementcard is installed in your system. No keyboard connected to the server is permitted to run thisprogram.
