Donot attempt to discharge the battery byany other means.• Temperature extremes will affect theability of your battery to charge: allow itto cool down or warm up first.• When the battery is running out ofpower and only few minutes of talk timeremain, a warning tone is heard andBattery low is briefly displayed.When no more talk time is left,Battery empty is displayed and awarning tone is sounded and the phoneswitches itself off.• Use the battery only for its intendedpurpose.• Never use any charger or battery that isdamaged or worn out.• Do not short-circuit the battery.Accidental short-circuiting can occurwhen a metallic object (coin, clip or pen)causes direct connection of the + and -terminals of the battery (metal strips onthe back of the battery) for examplewhen you carry a spare battery in yourpocket or purse. Short-circuiting theterminals may damage the battery or theconnecting object.• Leaving the battery in hot or cold places,such as in a closed car in summer orwinter conditions, will reduce thecapacity and lifetime of the battery.Always try to keep the battery between15°C (59 F) and 25°C (77 F). A phonewith a hot or cold battery maytemporarily not work, even when thebattery is fully charged. The performanceof NiMH batteries is particularly limitedin temperatures below -10°C (14 F). Theperformance of Li-Ion batteries isparticularly limited in temperaturesbelow -0°C (32 F).• Batteries must be recycled or disposed ofproperly.
