Non-experthandling of the device may damage it.• Do not drop, knock or shake it. IntroductionThe Nokia 7110 (GSM) come equipped thelatest codec and audio technology forsuperior sound and voice quality.Currently, there are three different codecsdefined for GSM/PCN:•full-rate (FR)•enhanced full-rate (EFR)•half-rate (HR)The Nokia 7110 phone can support all thesecodes.The FR codec is supported by all GSM 900/1800 cellular networks and phones.The network automatically selects whichcodec is used, FR or EFR (if supported by thenetwork).The Nokia phone supplied within this salespackage has the EFR codec activated to sothat you can automati-cally enjoy thebenefits of EFR if supported by your networkoperator. Currently only some networks sup-port the EFR codec in addition to the FRcodec.2. Deactivating/Activating The EFRCodecThe Nokia 7110 fully meet and comply withall EFR codec and relevant compatibilityspecifications.However, as a result of some networks notyet comply-ing with the latest specificationsyou may find it im-possible to make orreceive call, if the EFR codec is activated, e.g.when you are visiting or roaming in a foreignnetwork.
