Remote Annex Administrator’s Guide for UNIXChapter 3 Using the CLI CommandsBook C-158Book CnetstatThe netstat command displays statistics and information that the RemoteAnnex has obtained from the network. The command is similar to theUNIX netstat command in format and display, but offers additionaloptions. Table C-51 describes the arguments for netstat. The syntax is:netstat [–AaCfgimnpQRrSstx[–i | –r [network_number] | –sS[server_name] | ? | –m] z] portSince the Remote Annex is a multitasking system, this command canproduce misleading information if the underlying data structures arechanging rapidly. The display format varies according to the options selected and thenetwork protocols implemented for the Remote Annex (see DisplayingNetwork Statistics on page Book B-1 for sample display formats).Entering netstat without arguments displays the local and remoteaddresses, the send and receive queue sizes (in bytes), the protocol, andthe internal state of the protocol for all active connections.Addresses display as either host.port or network.port. The latter displaysif a socket’s address does not include a specific host address. Known hostnames are displayed; otherwise, the Internet addresses are displayed.Unspecified or wildcard addresses and ports appear as an asterisk (*).
