Remote Annex Administrator’s Guide for UNIXChapter 2 Configuration ParametersBook C-72Book Clong_breakThis asynchronous port parameter enables an Annex to return a user tothe CLI prompt after receiving a break signal of more than two seconds. When disabled, the Annex passes the break to the local application. A Yenables this parameter, an N disables it. The default is Y.loose_source_routeThis Annex parameter controls the Loose Source Routing protocol whichdefines a sequence of IP addresses that a datagram must follow. A Yenables this parameter, an N disables it. The default is Y.When enabled, The Annex forwards all IP packets that have the LooseSource Routing and Record option set. The Annex forwards all IP packetsthat have the Strict Source Routing and Record option set only if the nextrouting address is directly reachable by the Annex. Otherwise, the Annexdrops these packets and sends an ICMP type Destination Unreachablemessage with a code of Source Route Failed. When disabled, the Annex will not forward any IP packets that have theStrict Source Routing and Record or Loose Source Routing and Recordoptions set. The Annex accepts these packets only if the Annex itself isthe ultimate destination. If the packets are not addressed to the Annex, they are dropped and the Annex sends an ICMP type DestinationUnreachable message with a code of Source Route Failed will to theoriginator.Loose source routing can pose a security risk if you use filters on yournetwork router. If you are concerned with security, set this parameterto N.
