Chapter 4 Configuring devices 77Contivity Configuration Manager 2.2 User GuideTo view the configuration files you have archived, follow these steps:1 Select Configuration > Archive > Show Archived Configs.The Show Archived Configs dialog appears. It contains a list of the archivedconfigurations based upon the date you archived them, as well as the label andthe comments you entered with them.2 To set the item in the tree to the selected configuration version, click Use asCurrent.The selected archived configuration replaces the current device configurationin the tree. Note that this action does not remove the selected archivedconfiguration from the archive database.3 To compare two list entries at a time, select the entries, and then clickCompare.A Version Differences dialog appears showing the differences between theconfigurations. If more than two entries are selected at a time, all but the firsttwo entries are ignored.4 To delete a configuration or multiple configurations, select the archivedconfiguration(s) and then click Delete.The archived configuration(s) are then deleted from the archive.Understanding device propertiesEach item in the CCM database has associated with it one or more sets ofproperties. The properties, which define the characteristics of a database item, aredisplayed as parameters and fields. For example, the parameter IP Addresscontains the fields IP Address and Subnet Mask, the two values you must enter tocorrectly configure an IP address.When you select the Properties tab in the context-sensitive pane, a second tab baris displayed. This second tab bar always contains at least the Basic tab. Dependingon the complexity of the configuration data for an item, items might haveadditional tabs. Items with complex configuration data require more tabs thanitems with simple configuration data.
