When the balance is connected directly to a printer,displayed data can be output at any time by simply pressing thePrint button, or by using the Auto Print feature. Connecting thebalance to a computer enables you to operate the balance fromthe computer, as well as receive data such as displayed weight,weighing mode, stability status, etc.The following sections describe the hardware and softwareprovided with the balanceHardwareOn the rear of the balance, the right-hand, 9-pin male subminiature“D” connector is provided for interfacing to other devices. Thepinout and pin connections are shown in the adjacent illustration.Refer to paragraph 3.5.6 for setup.The balance is equipped with hardware handshaking, it will notoutput any data unless pin 5 (CTS) is held in a high state (+3 to+15 V dc).
