203Manual roll replacement before paper end or without external paper end light barrierManual roll replacement before paper end or withoutexternal paper end light barrierIntroductionA manual roll replacement may be necessary for the following reasons:■ On a synchronized twin or triplex printing system, you want to replace the rollbefore the end of the paper or■ the printing system does not have an external paper end light barrier.Attention:There must be sufficient paper on the paper roll on the first printer to allow thepaper web to be conveyed twice through the entire printing system (approx. 50 x12" sheets).Note:The control box 'Automatic start' must be deactivated in the menu 'Configuration' ->'Printing system' -> 'Paper end functions' (see Activate/deactivate function'Automatic start' on page 204) to allow you to start the roll replacement manually.Manual roll replacement[113]Proceed as follows:1. If the printing system has not yet stopped, click the 'Stop' button.2. Click on the 'Start' button in the 'Configuration' -> 'Printing system' -> 'Pa-per end functions' menu.3. Click 'Ready'.The printing system is switched to the 'Ready' status. The sheets, whichhave left the first printer at 'Stop', but have not yet run through the secondprinter, are now printed and fused. Then the progress display jumps to the'Mark' mark.4. Affix new paper web (see Affixing the paper web on page 205).5. After you have affixed the paper web (including 'NPRO'), click the 'End'button.
