n When relocating your OKIFAX, always disconnect thetelephone line before disconnecting the power cord, thenreconnect the power cord first.n This unit is not intended to be used in parallel with anyother telephone devices.Toner Cartridge andImage Drum Unit Handlingn Leave unused toner cartridges and image drum units intheir packages until needed. When replacing a tonercartridge or image unit, re-use the packaging to disposeof the old toner cartridge or image drum unit.n Do not expose these components to light for more thanfive minutes. Never expose the green drum (inside theimage drum unit) to direct sunlight.n Always hold the image drum unit by the ends—never bythe middle. Never touch the surface of the green druminside the image drum unit.n Exercise care when removing the toner cartridge. Do notlet it touch your clothing or porous materials. The tonerpowder causes permanent stains.n Small amounts of toner spilled on skin or clothing can bereadily removed with soap and cold water. Using heatedwater will make removing the stain much more difficult.Emergency First Aidn IF TONER IS SWALLOWED: Dilute by giving two glasses of waterand induce vomiting by administering Syrup of Ipecac(follow manufacturer’s instructions). Seek medicalattention. Never attempt to induce vomiting or giveanything by mouth to a person who is unconscious.n IF TONER IS INHALED: Take person to an open area for fresh air.Seek medical attention.n IF TONER GETS IN THE EYES: Flush eyes with large quantities of coolwater for 15 minutes, keeping eyelids open with fingers.Seek medical attention.n See the Material Safety Data Sheet in the back of this Hand-book for more information.of5356fm.pm6 6/8/98, 5:19 PM8
