If you want to turn off this feature, see “Changing YourUser Function Settings” in Customizing Features andOperations.Real-Time DialingNormally, your MFP dials the entire number of the locationyou have selected at one time. Occasionally, it may benecessary to dial numbers in real time (one digit at a time).If an external telephone is connected to your MFP, you candial in real time by picking up the handset. Or, press theHook/Voice Request key.Redialing• If the line is busy or if there is no answer, your MFP waits,and then automatically redials the number.• If your MFP is transmitting from memory and acommunication error occurs, it automatically redials thenumber and tries to send the fax again.• You can redial a number manually at any time by pressingthe Redial key.Confirming ResultsAfter transmission, press the Copy key once (with nodocuments loaded) to see a report confirming yourtransmission on your MFP’s display. To print the report, pressthe Copy key a second time. See the section on Reports formore information.Stopping a TransmissionTo stop a transmission while it is in progress:• Press the Stop key twice. The display shows STOPPED.• If documents are stuck partway through the documentfeeder, you may see a RELOAD DOCUMENT message onthe display. Press the Stop key again. Your MFP feeds thedocument the rest of the way through the document feeder.Receiving Faxes ManuallyAs long as your MFP is not set to the manual receive [TEL]mode, your MFP automatically receives faxes. If your MFP isset to the manual receive [TEL] mode, follow the instructionsbelow.! You need to have an optional handset installed, or anexternal handset connected to your MFP.
