Subscriber’s Manual485.8 Message WaitingNotificationThe Message Waiting Notification featurelets you know you have received newmessages in your mailbox by:Message Waiting Lamp: The messagelamp on your telephone (if it has one) willlight when you receive a new message. Ifyou have a compatible PBX andPanasonic telephone with a 6-line display,you can also see the number of newmessages you have on your display.Device Notification: Notifying you via a"device", i.e., an outside telephone,another PBX extension, your mobilephone, beeper, etc. You can assign threedifferent devices. For each device, youhave the option of receiving notificationfor urgent messages only, or for allmessages. You can also choose toreceive notification during certain hoursonly (called "scheduling"), useful if you donot want to be disturbed at night, forexample. For more information onscheduling, consult your SystemAdministrator.If you turn device notification on for morethan one device, the lowest numbereddevice (1, 2, or 3) will be used first. Ifnotification is not possible (for example, ifyour outside telephone is busy), the nextdevice will be used.Message notification by e-mail may alsobe available for your mailbox (see 5.9 E-mail Integration (Message Notification byE-mail)).Turning Message Waiting LampNotification On/Off1.
