Subscriber’s Manual927.3 Setting Up MessageWaiting NotificationThe VPS can notify the MessageManager when unplayed messages arewaiting in his or her mailbox by turning onthe message waiting lamp and/or callinga external device (i.e., telephone orbeeper).The VPS can also send notification via e-mail if the System Administrator hasenabled this feature.Setting Notification by MessageWaiting LampThe VPS lights the message waiting lampon the Message Manager's extensionwhen a new message is recorded in theMessage Manager's mailbox.Note• Extensions assigned as operators canbe called by dialing [0], however, whensetting this feature the extensionnumber (not "0") must be specified.• When a proprietary telephone with 6-line display is used, the number of new(unplayed) messages will be displayedwhile the message waiting lamp is lit.This feature is only available when theVPS is connected to a Panasonic KX-T series PBX using DPT Integration(see "DPT Integration" in theGlossary).1. Set the followingparameters as needed.Setting Device StatusFor each device, the notification isenabled or disabled according to a presetschedule.
