51 OthersCleaning and replacing the air filterIf the air filter becomes clogged with dust, the internal temperature of theprojector will rise, the TEMP indicator will flash and the projector power willturn off. The air filter should be cleaned every 100 hours of use,depending on the location where the projector is being used.Cleaning procedureq Turn off the MAIN POWERswitch and disconnect thepower cord plug from the walloutlet.Turn off the MAIN POWER switchaccording to the procedure givenin “Turning off the power” onpage 28 before disconnecting theplug from the wall outlet.w Gently turn the projectorupside down.NOTE:• Place the projector on top of a softcloth so that it will not becomescratched.e Remove the air filter.Put your fingernails under the airfilter and pull the air filter out ofthe projector.r Clean the air filter.Use a vacuum cleaner to cleanoff any accumulated dust.NOTE:• Be careful not to let the air filterget sucked into the vacuumcleaner.t Install the air filter.NOTE:• Be sure to install the air filtercover before using the projector. Ifthe projector is used without theair filter cover installed, dust andother foreign particles will bedrawn into the projector, andmalfunctions will result.• If the dust cannot be removed bycleaning, it is time to replace theair filter.
